I would love to, but my gear is scattered at the moment. I'll have to get it all back together eventually.

Cool. 8) Those old Peaveys were built like tanks and pretty f'n loud, too. Good deal, there. 8) By the way, how's everything been going with the little one and all? I haven't seen you around here in awhile. You doing OK?

Things are going decent I guess. I'm fairly unhappy with my relationship, but I love my child. I don't know how her and I are going to last. She's just not a good person to be with to be honest.

I don't know if I love her anymore. Things have been that way for a long time during our relationship. I know I don't want to be with her anymore, but every time I try to end things she guilts me into staying with her. She severely damaged me mentally, she's always been emotionally abusive towards me because that's all she knows. I hurt every time I have to see her or sleep next to her. I'm just unhappy, and the only reason I know that is because the only place I am is at work.

And no, I'm not just going to abandon Ruby. I love her, she's a bright little child and she's cute as anything. I just can't see things going well for her if she has to grow up in a household that's constantly in turmoil.

Nice that you could score on that amp, James.

Sorry to hear about your relationship. Life is full of ups and downs, and most of us have seen or will see it in our lifetime. Just be sure to put all of your ups ahead of your downs, and you'll be in good shape.

Being a great dad is extremely rewarding (so I'm told). Ruby will be just fine as long as you do your part.

I, unfortunately, never had that opportunity (although, I had plenty of great times working with kids). So you see? With Ruby - that's a BIG up for you. :D
All the best.

So sorry things are bad in the relationship right now. I'll pass some advice a wise old woman (who raised four children and numerous "honorary" kids and grandkids) gave me when the Armadillo Teen was born...She said (and I'm paraphrasing):

"Be the man you would want your daughter to marry. If you want her to choose a responsible, caring and loving husband, then you have to act that way toward her mother (or whomever you may be in a relationship with later).
If you want her to marry an idiot who mistreats her and her children, be that man. It's your choice."

Good words to live by.

It may be hard, depending on how your partner is acting at the time, but if you take the high road, no matter how hard it is, your daughter will benefit.

I'm tired of always taking the brunt of her anger. I'm tired of always being accused. I'm tired of always being used, bending over backwards and getting nothing in return, and on top of it, working more than anyone else in my household. I never hear any kind of compliments, I could do everything to set up a perfect day and she'd still find a way to be angry with me.

Last night I was baselessly accused of cheating and we were up fighting all night. I'm at my mom's house with Ruby at the moment. She's at work. What a great way to start one of my rare days off. I don't think I'll continue this relationship after today. She doesn't have any sense of responsibility and has told me she doesn't feel the need to have her license because she's "comfortable with everyone driving her around" I do a lot of $@!& for her and she doesn't ever put in the effort to return the favors.

Her and her whole family has done nothing but suck the life out of me and drain me financially.
