Please show me your favorite colors in pictures because I cant decide whether buying a red shiny LP STUDIO or an ALpine white LP STUDIO, or a red strat. You know sometimes the shiny color can get more scratches in the finish with the time. What would you recommend?

In general I am fan of sunburst finishes. I love Fender's 3-color burst. For my Gibson Les Paul Trad Pro, I went with the cherry burst. It really is a pretty classic
looking guitar to me. It may be stupid, but I like having some (even though small) visual uniqueness, as opposed to a solid white ot black.
Just my dump opinion, though...

Burst styles are generally my favorite. My Les Paul (Epiphone) is classic cherry sunburst, and when I bought my AmDlx Strat, I ponied up the extra $50 for the ash body so that I could get the aged cherryburst finish (the 3-color tobacco sunburst is really sweet, but when I saw the aged cherryburst, I had to have that one). I'm shopping for a MIM Tele (not ready to pony up for a MIA version yet), and that will probably be a sunburst unless I can find a butterscotch blonde version (which is kind of the classic Tele finish).

I would love to pick up a surf green Strat at some point though.

Brown sunburst on a strat and cherry burst on a LP. Good luck.

I'm not too keen on sunbursts or other faux aging looks.
For a strat, I really like the sky blue and foam green, and for an LP, well, black with cream binding is classy.

Strat--Fiesta Red, Candy Tangerine or Sherwood Green

Les Paul--"Black Beauty" cosmetics (look it up, you'll know what I mean) or Sunburst.

Ironically, I'm not a huge fan of sunburst finishes on Fender-style guitars, even though I have a sunburst G&L and a sunburst Telecaster...I don't hate it, just not my first choice

I have a 2012 Mystic Red Strat that is drop dead gorgeous! Sweetest color I ever had on an American Strat. I'm not a Les Paul fan and never like their Sunburst finnish too much yellow and orange for my taste but to each their own and I no longer have the Shoulder for a Real LP. Already had 2 Rotator Cuff operations and the real les Pauls are heavy!

I Like my Black Strat....I can't seem to post my Photo in my Avatar nor on the page or I would show it to ya....
Bottom Line is it doesn't matter what We think or Like...It's about what You Like and are going to Enjoy for many years to come. Truth is...They are All Beautiful to Someone.

01GT...Your Les Paul is Beautiful.

The last post was dead on. It is up to you to know what feels right in your hands and what YOU really love the feel and look of but believe me , if your anything like most of us this is a life long journey and you'll go through a LOT of guitars to find the one that is truly special. I can't even remember how many guitars I have owned but I finally after 30 years of Playing, buying and selling it took me that long to know and finally have the 2 guitars that look the best to me and play like I always dreamed they would. Mine came in the form of an American mystic red 2012 Strat with fat 50's and a Korean guitar called a Reverend Jetstream 390 in Ocean Blue with 3 P-90's and a Bass Contour Control Knob. Wouldn't trade either one for Love or Money. I hope you find your dream guitar but remember it's a long road of buying guitars to get the one you always wanted. It came down to 2 for me and it took me 30 years to do it. It doesn't matter what anyone thinks, it's how it looks to you and much more importantly how it PLAYS, how it FEELS in your hands and how it SOUNDS to you and that is ALL that matters. God Bless and best of Luck to you!

Three-Tone Sunburst and Cherry Sunburst would be my top choices, too. I have a lot of 'bursts, though. So my next Strat pick would be Candy Apple Red (CAR).

There are no "dumb" opinions-to each there own. What one person likes doesn't require approval from anyone else. What you like is what you like and that is all that maters but color if it is your first criteria in buying a guitar is foolish. What really matters is how it feels in your hands and how it sounds to you. Those are the most important criteria, not the color but get what you like, it's your money and you can spend it on anything you want. Glad you like your guitar but make the purchase based on more than color (IMHO)

True, color or finish should not be the main reason a player chooses a guitar...BUT...

The looks of a guitar can (and possibly should) affect a player's attitude toward the instrument. Case in point:

If I need a pair of jeans, I could go to the store, pick out a pair that adequately cover my butt, and then buy them, regardless if I like the style or fabric.
Likewise, I can go to the store and find a pair that look flattering (in my wife's eyes--after 23 years, I'm still want her to find me attractive).
Also, (especially if I am going to be wearing these jeans to perform in) I want them to fit my personal image, my band's image and look "cool" (however that may be defined).

Both pairs of jeans served the function. My butt is adequately covered...but I'll feel more comfortable and confident in my Levi's 505's than I will a pair of Rustler "Middle-aged Dad Fit" Dungarees.

Likewise, a Tregan or a BC Rich Warlock might "feel" and sound good...but neither guitar fits my image or or my band's image, and I find them unattractive.

If it comes down to a choice between two Telecasters, and the "fit," tone, price and quality are equally matched, I'm picking the Fiesta Red one over the Sunburst, or the Sherwood Green one over the Daphne Blue one--those colors are more pleasing (aesthetically) and closer match my "image"--my favorite hues in clothing, cars, etc.

Color is not unimportant--otherwise, Leo would have got his way and we'd only have Sunburst Strats and Butterscotch Teles...and the iconic images of our heroes (Muddy Waters with his red Telecaster, Billy Gibbons with his Sunburst Les Paul, Eric Clapton with "Blackie" and a dozen others) would not exist.
