I'm using the USA Geddy Lee, with no problem.

That's a tough one Paul. The pups are a bit different, the necks also. The USA Geddy Lee has a bit of an early 70's kick to it, and the neck feels slightly quicker too. I guess a slight edge to the USA Geddy Lee.

Well, you could pull an Entwistle and swap the neck and parts around and make your own bass. :P

If there were some things I didn't like about both the basses, I could see that.

Yeah, you could put the Geddy Lee neck on the American Standard. Maybe swap out the pick ups, too. That way, you'd have the string through the body and white finish, plus the GL neck with the inlays.

Yeah, if you want to trade them in, then you'd have to put it all back together again. :P

Have you ever did that, though? Make a parts bass, or heavily mod something?

I compared the Am. Std. to the GL today. Am. Std. has more lower mids than the GL. I pulled the bass knob out on the head, adding more bass, and the Am. Std. was closer to the lower tone of the GL.
