That reminds me, I never did get the red shag carpeting for the Fender amp, which I had talked about a few years ago. :P I just happened to remember that for some reason.

I'd rather have the Naugahyde from the 60's Kustom Amps.

It's actually a joke in relation to the "Blues Brothers" movie. Although, I did find the idea somewhat interesting at the time. :P

I had some fine tunes playing with the USA Geddy Lee Jazz today. It reaffirmed my absolute liking of this Jazz over any other Fender Jazz. For me anyway. Image

I have noticed that with all of the basses that you've gone through, you have gone back to that the most, or liked it the most.

I like the the feel of it, and it's a real player. The pups are the special wrapped 70's.

Have you ever played any of the 70's type reissues they've put out? I'd be curious to see what differences there might be between all of them.

One of the things the 70's reissues may have is the 7.25" radius fretboard. The pups on the USA Geddy Lee Jazz are to Lee's specs from his 70's Jazz. That's a little special.

The USA Geddy Lee Jazz sure sounded fine going through the Hartke head. Image

That's true, there is that original, 7.25" board specs, I think on at least one of those models. That does change the neck feel somewhat, I'm sure. I had an original, 1977 Jazz Bass, but I don't remember how the neck on that one even felt, it's been so long ago, with quite a few basses after it. I was also not that experienced of a player, so there's that perception, too.

I like going with a flatter radius board to play on. It's easier for me to reach across a flatter board, than to curl my fingers around a more curved radius board.

It's certainly best to have the right feel to the neck. That's the main thing, I think.

That's so true. A good reason to have choices to pick from. The 10' radius board of the Ric 4003 feels fine for my playing as well.

I think the easier the neck, the better you'll be at playing on it. Why make more work for yourself when you don't have to?

That's a great way to look at it too.
