Is that a problem, or something you think you'll just adapt to?

Not as much of a problem, as a preference for the feel of the edge of the board. I just don't want to order one of the Fretless Standard's, and not like it, or get one not finished as well as my Fretted Standard Jazz is. I just finished playing the Standard, and it's like I said before, It's a real swift playing Jazz.

Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever had an opportunity to play a Fender fretless Jazz. The closest thing I ever did was the fretless Hohner Jazz copy that I had in the 90's. It looked pretty close to one, but didn't have the fret lines on the board.

I think if I remember correctly, the only Fretless basses I've played, were Fenders.

You ever play any back in the day? I know Fender had a fretless P Bass in the early 70's, (maybe 1972,) and I do believe that Ampeg bass that Rick Danko played in the Band was a fretless, but I don't know what year that came out. It could have been in the late 60's, but I'd have to research that.

I played a Fretless around 1995.

Oddly enough, that's around the time I had mine.

At first I wasn't too thrilled about the Fretless at first, but the more I played them they kinda' grew on me.

It's been so long since I've played one that I really don't remember what it's like to play on one.

I do feel better playing the Fretless again. For me it just feels right.

I'm not noticing the difference in sounds between the V-Mod pups on the Am. Pro.'s, and the CS60's pups on the Am. Std.'s. Image

There probably isn't much of a difference, then.

I'd really have to have one of each, side by side, in the same amp, and with the same strings on both of them.

That would be interesting to see, although two of the same model might not be exactly the same, either.

You betcha', they all play differently to start with. So much for test continuity I guess.
