It may have been, I just like the way Fender turned it out.

I do appreciate also the weight of the USA GL. Mine is 9 lbs., and that's a great weight for a Jazz, I think.

Lighter than my Schecter.

The "PJ" Precision is 8.13 lbs. Weight wise the USA Geddy Lee, and the "PJ" Precision pair up nicely.

I wish the Schecter was. :P Then again, that's probably why it sounds as good as it does and if I play it sitting down and not standing over an hour, it's not bad. Maybe with all of the walking I've been doing, it's been getting me into better shape so it doesn't get my back as bad.

Is the strap you use, when you play standing up, giving you enough support in the neck, and shoulder?

It's one of those wide, padded comfort straps, or whatever they're called. They do pretty good, but after a long period of time, I start feeling that bass. What I can do, is swap out basses a lighter one, if I have to play for a couple of hours. You know, play certain ones for different songs and break it up that way.

One of the Epi, or Hofner violins really light, and sound damn great.

Yeah, I've never played one, but watched a couple of demos, and I've played on a Jay Turser knock off of the violin bass, which was pretty cool. The thing was so light, it felt fragile. Fast neck, too.

I know what you mean about feeling fragile. But they are more substantial than they feel.

They sound really good too. La Bella Flats play great on them.

Of course, you got to have the flats to get that 60's tone. 8)

I'd use Nylons on the Hofner, but the strings have to have the standard guitar ends for the openings on the string pegs.

I can see where that would be an issue.

That's what I liked about the Beatle Bass La Bella Flats I had on the Hofner.
