Congrats! Nice looking guitar.

You need to clip the excess off the strings

Nice guitar. 8) I've heard about that brand before. I know they sell them in the UK, at least.

Ha yeah Jerry, what can I say, was going for the afro look, just until I get my snips from van.

Hi Paul, yeah been around a while now I'd say, a John Hornby Skewes / Wilkinson get together. I think Fret King are in the mix too, sure in the Namm vid on youtube I saw they were demoing it under Fret King banner.

Beautiful guitar John. Like the saying goes, if she plays as good as she looks then come to papa
there is a song in there somewhere

Nothing drives me nuts more than that! Especially those with Floyd Rose that leave the ball ends flinging around the headstock.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Thanks Rollie BM, really growing on me this one, know what they mean now about being a heavy bugger, two piece mahogany, maple cap with flame veneer, she's a whole lotta guitar

Gotta say, that's different to the one I had and couldn't get on with. Mine was light as a feather, didn't have the Lemon Drop writing on the truss cover. I've heard so many good reports of them mine must have been a Monday morning guitar or a 2nd. It was pretty early into the series, if I remember right. My issue was completely that I couldn't get on with the playability. The local shop stocked Vintage and Fretking stuff for a long while. All of it played better than my guitar. So I'm quite convinced it was a dud.

Those pickups though, what a sound. I paid out for the Bareknuckles Pete Green pickups for my LP. Those Wilkinson jobs are very comparable. Nice, low output PAF approximations.
You'll get great scope in the middle position and play with all the controls. I tend to lower the neck volume just enough that it thins out the sound of the out of phase combination. But not so much that it's super thin like when both pickups are on max volume. Then play with the tone control of the bridge pickup to thicken the sound up a bit more whilst keeping that nasal honk from the pickups being out of phase.
All that works well the opposite way round too. Lower the bridge, adjust neck tone.
It makes for a very very adaptable guitar.

Just a smidge over 10lbs this one Nick, was on the lookout for a xmas prez from the budget me and Mrs set for each other, this came in at a couple light of that. Looked at a PRS Bernie Marsden, back home though, looked up best cheap guitars and youtube came up with a few like this which kinda sold me. Straight onto amazon thinking if not happy then rebox and send back, nothing to lose, I think it's a steal.
Was yours a reissue or the Icon model ?

You're just showing off now.

Sounds fantastic, really nice authentic and delicate. Non of that super high output nonsense. Plenty of bloom to the sound, even on the middle setting.
Been a long time since I saw someone enjoying playing that much.
