Picked up this beauty today. It's a NOS 2010 model that is made to perfection, that sat in a warehouse for 6 years. Also got a really nice strap for it. ❤❤❤❤❤

I actually owned one back in 2012 that looked exactly the same but it had inferior build quality. The frets and fingerboard were poorly finished and the binding on the neck was all crooked and had overspray on it. This one is 100% in terms of build quality and somehow feels lighter. Best Gibson I've ever owned.

It's just a normal stock 2008 Sheraton. I was going to do a number of upgrades when I got it but honestly it's so good I'm not going to touch it.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Congratulations on your new purchase. I picked up the same color 335 last year. I love those 57 classic pickups. Quite a versatile guitar. Enjoy.

Sweet !!

Congrats !!

Actually saw them being made at the Gibson Factory in Memphis last Fall. This factory makes all the hollow/semi-hollow guitars Gibson makes.

Image

Two things surprised me about the Tour; first, that they only produce 64 instruments per day (total of all models) from this facility and second, that the tops are all now laminated, steamed and pressed, not carved from solid wood as they used to be.

That said, I believe the perfect guitar trifecta is a Telecaster, Stratocaster and a semi-hollow body such as the 335 which I believe is the most versatile of the semi's. With these, you can easily cover virtually any genre.

In my case, I filled the semi-hollow niche w/ an H-535 from Heritage Guitars:

Image

The Heritage H-535 is a Fraternal Twin to the ES-335 insofar as it's made by former Gibson employees on former Gibson tooling, in the former Gibson factory #2 in Kalazoo, MI. While virtually hand-made, Heritage resists the urge to call them hand-made because they now use some tooling to route the neck block unlike in years past. Instead, they call them hand-crafted. But every other detail is hand-made.

Heritage Guitars are unknown to many in that they do no advertising whatever, yet sell every guitar they make, often w/ a 3 mo. backorder. In many ways, they out-Gibson the modern day Gibsons. Better value-for-$ too as they're several hundred dollars less.

Also an NOS 2010 model, mine features a solid, hand carved Maple top, Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard and Seth Lover humbuckers which have amazing tone.

But, in many ways, it's really a Tomato/Tomahto argument. They're both very fine instruments and yours is gorgeous and should give you many, many years of enjoyment.

Resist the urge to modify it until you've explored all of it's possibilities. Once that happens, I doubt you'll feel the need.

Cheers!

It's beautiful. :)

Arguably I would say that your Heritage is probably better built than mine and I have looked into them before. The one thing that puts me off (and I know this is ridiculous and superficial) is the shape of the head-stocks.

It's the same with Epiphone, their Les Paul's are absolutely superb but the head stock looks wrong somehow, just too long. I have an Epiphone Sheraton and Wildkat as they don't have the standard horrible head-stock other Epi's have.

I know, there's something seriously wrong with me.
