I just found it out on Facebook. WTF ? Is this some type of curse or something where our musicians that we grew up with, are dying ?

Aw, geez......

Glenn always epitomized the very best that the Eagles had to offer and I loved his bootlegging pilot character in the "Miami Vice" episode that showcased the song "Smuggler's Blues".

RIP you desperado.

:(

I was fortunate to have seen him with the Eagles at the renovated Forum in Inglewood, CA., in 2014. What a great and talented musician.

Wow, what a shock!

I will really miss him.

There was a time when I did not like Glenn so much, he always seemed so arrogant. After watching The History of the Eagles, I realized that he was the driving force behind the band. He had a real talent for knowing what would be a hit song. I am sorry that I learned to appreciate him so late in life.

Glenn went to high school a block away from were I lived in Royal Oak Michigan. I had to walk past the high school every day on my way elementary school. Several years ago I realized he was attending high school at the same time I walked past every day. I thought that was kind of cool.

Prayers to Glenn's family.

The Eagles were among, if not #1, of my all time favorite groups.
Way too many of my favorites are now passing.

Your legacy will be mixed with exceptional contribution to songwriting and legendary inability to play well with others...

Thanks for the Music...

I need to watch that documentary, because I, too, have very mixed feelings about Mr. Frey.

I love his songwriting, and many of the songs by the Eagles play as a soundtrack to my childhood.

However, the single personal interaction I had with him (circa 1991) was extremely unpleasant.

His arrogant, curt and rude attitude and behavior ruined the potentially amazing event--a tour of Guitar Centers, promoting the release a new album and a signature model Rickenbacker guitar (of which I've never seen another example).

Unfortunately, it jaded my (as well as several other audience members) attitude(s) toward him.

I admire his songwriting, and I love many of his performances. Maybe watching that documentary will re-establish some respect for the man himself.

I hope his family and friends find peace during their time of loss.
