Out of tribute, I guess ... I have been listening to David Bowie's very late 1980s "Tin Machine"-era stuff stuff. If you are not familiar, you should check it out. Those are some good rock and roll albums. I kinda feel guilty for not listening more to it ... Reeves Gabrels was the guitar player (from the Cure), and the albums are dripping in his great guitar work.

My girlfriend played with Reeves. That Tin Machine record is what inspired her to reach out to him, especially the song "I Can't Read." He recorded with her before he joined the Cure.

Another great musician gone; the world is getting darker, colder and colder.

I´ll see you on your planet, Ziggy.

I'm usually pretty relaxed about the deaths of celebrities - they aren't people I really know and I can shrug it off after a bit of sadness and reflection. But Bowie was different. I don't know why. I think it's because he was always cool and interesting one of the few rock stars who kept moving forward as he got old. He was an example to those of us who want to keep doing new things as we age. Well, I guess we all have that one new thing ahead of us.
