Blackstar playing on my radio right now. Nice. Though sad to hear this masters farewell. Last Friday I listened to the entire album which was released that very day. I was in a different mood than today.
Well, nothing lasts forever, neither did you, Mr.Jones. Your music will be appreciated and played for years and years. Thank You - Rest in Peace.

I think that video was an indication he was going to go. He certainly must have known this.

Lemmy died four days after his birthday.

But yeah, it's tough seeing two "immortals" like that go.

Cancer is a $@!&*, and it strikes everyone differently. Thankfully, long time survivors like Dick Dale, Rod Stewart, Charlie Watts, Stephen Stills and Harry Belafonte are still with us and give me reassurance that cancer doesn't always imply that death is knocking at the door. Long may they live.

It's unfortunate, but time catches up with us all. "We each owe a death, there are no exceptions".

I probably couldn't have been the person I am if it hadn't been Bowie making me feel ok about it when I was a teen. Very sad. A genius and completely sincere artist (underneath all his personae).

Oh, OK. For some reason I was thinking it was two days. Yeah, his birthday was the 24th not the 26th.

I was definitely a fan ... but, admittedly, not a huge fan. Although, I always felt I should have been. I do know that "All The Young Dudes" is one of the best 10 rock songs ever written. RIP, Mr. Bowie...

He certainly was an influence among a lot of my influences.

Out of tribute, I guess ... I have been listening to David Bowie's very late 1980s "Tin Machine"-era stuff stuff. If you are not familiar, you should check it out. Those are some good rock and roll albums. I kinda feel guilty for not listening more to it ... Reeves Gabrels was the guitar player (from the Cure), and the albums are dripping in his great guitar work.

Tin Machine started out as the next "David Bowie solo album" at the time, but evolved into a full-fledge equal-partnership band. Bowie said while they were first coming together, "I think this has got to be a band. Everybody's got input. Everybody's writing. And they don't listen to me anyway."
