What's the deal with the control panels? I have a BJ and when you stand in front of it the control text is upside down. The Deluxe and DeVille it's rightside up, and I've notice that other models (can't remember which ones) are like the BJr. - upside down!

When I first got my amp I made some bad tone adjustments live because of this and bad lighting. (OK and because I'm stupid.) The gig was recorded and it sounded like #$@%. Went home got out Illustrator and created my own panel overlay so now I can read the blasted thing.

Hello Uteowl,

I sit behind my amp so this is good for me,
way back when{'60s} that's the way
I was shown and it stuck. Some have suggested
more amps were made this way in the past,
I dona know.

Recently I converted my Blues Jr to a
head and seperate cab.
which is very convenient.
I still sit behind the speaker.

Just my thoughts.

Cheers.

Lots of amps are made to emulate the amps that were made when electric guitars were new to the music scene. Being that the players back then would actually sit behind their amps. That's why the controls look upside down now. We're used to having the amps behind us.

Do you have any pictures of the cab and or the head? I have seen the one picture you posted some time ago. I have been considering converting mine as well.

Hello Cu_Jarrett,

Still using the original bj cab and speaker.

Just started planing the wood so were
about a month out, as of yet I haven't
decided on 1or 2 speakers. Everythings
measured in the almighty dollar.

I like it a lot.

Only the one photo at this point.

Cheers.

Laugh if you want, but control-panel-friendliness is one of the highest personal shopping points for an amp.

Personal 'ideal layouts:

The Line 6 Vetta HD and FBV Longboard and Cyber-Twin Head and big floor controller..
