Now, I know there is a topic similar to this but this is a little different.
I was reading the equipment that you guys use for home recording and became extremely confused :(
I was just wondering if you guys could help me out finding some cheap and easy to use home recording equipment...
thanks in advance!

Depends on how much money you've got. A cheap way to go is to get a 4 track tape recorder.

I don't know to what extent you are looking to record at home. But for me, a bass player, to get all my lines/riffs/noises off of paper and out of my head, and onto the computer/digital world, I use this:

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/ ... sku=245507

It is cheap and very easy to use,and exactly what I need. I also looked at this one:

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/ ... sku=249700

but the salesman sold me on the Lexicon, so that's what I bought. Hope any of this can help you. YMMV

You can find a used Fostex 4 track recorder for around $100 to $150.

The Lexicon is a good choice and you can use Audacity software which is free.

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

I'm told it's very good, but to be honest I've never used it to find out for myself. Of course, I'm assuming you have a computer to use.

Reaper http://reaper.fm/ cost $50 and is extremely powerful recording software. It's CPU friendly and I have no latency while recording.

You'll need a audio interface, I recommend one of the Edirol http://www.rolandus.com/products/productlist.aspx?ParentId=114. My UA-4FX works great with Reaper.

The only thing with me is that I have BR-600 and BR-1600, way easier to use IMO. I got Reaper just so I could be more knowledgeable about computer recording. Reaper is fairly ez to learn, but there are hundreds of plug-ins!
