I've mentioned that I'll playing on a radio show for WBRU 95.5 FM in Providence, RI which I believe is on the 14th of this month. Well, John Ashton, founding member of the Psychedelic Furs, who played on two songs of the latest EP we put out (Jenn Vix: Strange Buildings,) including the track I posted a link to the video for that was featured in Classic Rock Magazine, is going to be playing guitar for us for the show. We'll be doing three songs, two of which that are on the EP, and a new one which we'll have to record to give to him so he can come up with some guitar parts for. It's never been fully recorded and it will be debuted live, there.

We were originally going to do the show with just the two of us, since we've had a couple of guitarists flake out on us after we ran an ad for this, but he inquired about the show and wanted to play it. That's pretty cool, I think. 8) The funny thing is I wasn't really nervous about this show coming up, but now I am a little bit. I'm sure I'll get over that real quick, though. The guy is a total pro and he's already complemented me on my playing and I know the songs enough that I should nail it. Hopefully. :P

Thanks! 8) This is the station's website and the page where that will be posted. http://www.wbru.com/category/home-brud/

I'm not exactly sure on the details on everything yet, but I know we have some work to do beforehand. We're going to have a rehearsal with him before the show and of course we need to record one of the songs we're doing to send to him so he can have some extra time come up with guitar parts before hand. That way he doesn't have to worry about anything last minute.

Fender will be represented there because I do plan on bringing the Rumble 350 combo for the show. I'm not sure what kind of gear John has, since I've never asked him, although I know he has his own signature guitar custom made from some company called Desert Dust guitars. I think they're made in Europe somewhere, maybe France. I doubt he'll be hauling some stack along. I'm sure he has some sort of combo amp or several.

Thanks. I saw that you have a new song out, but I haven't had a chance to check it out, yet. I will later. 8)

Thanks. 8) I'll also let everyone when the time comes. Right now, we have to send John Ashton some music so he can familiarize himself with it, come up with guitar parts, etc. and we'll also have a rehearsal beforehand, too. We still have to work out the logistics.

It's showtime tonight! It's at 7 PM, but I do believe it's going to be taped and not aired live. I'll post the link afterwards. We had a pretty good rehearsal last night and John Ashton and I jammed for about 40 minutes for fun. He's one hell of a guitar player, that's for sure. By the way, he's played a Paul Reed Smith with a Fargen tube combo.

Looking forward to hearing your performance, Paul. The main thing is to have fun, and it sounds like you are. All the best bro'.

OK, just got back. Everything went off really well and after the three songs we did, there was an interview with us. I'm not sure when it's going on line, but I'll link it when I find out. We also handed them the latest EP, which they'll play during the week. We also signed the wall, which everyone does when they go there. All in all, it was a great time. The Fender Rumble did it's duty and served me well. The thing was friggin' heavy to lug up and down stairs, though. :P

Here's a pic I took of the wall of the station and it's logo:
