There is no easy way to say this…our mighty, noble friend Lemmy passed away today after a short battle with an extremely aggressive cancer. He had learnt of the disease on December 26th, and was at home, sitting in front of his favorite video game from The Rainbow which had recently made it’s way down the street, with his family.

We cannot begin to express our shock and sadness, there aren’t words.

We will say more in the coming days, but for now, please…play Motörhead loud, play Hawkwind loud, play Lemmy’s music LOUD.
Have a drink or few.

Share stories.

Celebrate the LIFE this lovely, wonderful man celebrated so vibrantly himself.

HE WOULD WANT EXACTLY THAT.

I was just looking through my news feed and it was right there on the Classic Rock Magazine feed. I thought it might have been a hoax at first, unfortunately it was not. You know, it seemed like that guy would survive the Apocalypse along with Keith Richards.

RIP, Lemmy. Thoughts and prayers to his family. Must be a terrible shock, especially during the holidays.

RIP Lemmy.
I got to see Motorhead at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic New Jersey back in 1984.
I remember there were 2 wankers up front who were sitting down while everyone else was on their feet.
Lemmy told them to get up or get out.

Unfortunately, I've never had a chance to see them live, but at least there are records to listen to. That's what I've been doing today, anyhow.

I never saw Motorhead but just a year or so ago, I was able to catch the film that was made about Lemmy , on VH-1 Classic which was amazing. I forgot the name of it but, it gave a really great inside look of him and his relationship with his son, etc. He was just diagnosed with cancer last weekend and 2 days later, he was dead. Now that's a $@!&* !
