John Mayer release a live CD and DVD called Where The Light Is yesterday.
The concert includes three sets: an acoustic performance, John Mayer Trio, and a set featuring Mayer's full-band, all recorded on December 8, 2007 in Los Angeles.

I picked it up last night, and watched in aww... and IMO great concert DVD! The best I have seen since the 1st Crossroads DVD. JM is in a zone for this show, especially during the Trio set, any blues fan will appreciate it the guitarmanship, and the tight rhythm section of Steve Jordan, and Pino Paladino provide.

Just got done watching it. Definitely an "on" night for him. The DVD gave me a new appreciation for Robbie (slide guitar) as well. And the Trio was great as always. I'm about to go back downstairs and check out the bonus features.

I was going to post a thread about this last night. I totally agree with it being a awesome cd/ dvd. I bought both yesterday. The entire thing was amazing and tight but the trio section is absolutely fantastic. I would defiantly recommend it.

I just bought it two days ago, and I absolutely love it. He is a very good all-around musician, and someone I aspire to be like some day. 8)

Those of you who have checked out Where the Light Is. On the Blu Ray ver there is a special feature called John's 200 guitars. He talks about some of the different guitars he owns.

There is also a bit from René Martinez who John's guitar tech. René Martinez was also the guitar tech for Stevie Ray. René talks about how John's playing pulled him out of retirement from the road.

They also talk about how John has one of the Lenny Replica's, René and John go through some of the stuff included with the guitar, and how he use to set up the original Lenny. It is pretty neat. René then talks about being the tech for SRV and how he was the best he has ever seen or heard, then makes a comment about John's playing, how it is the closest he has seen to SRV's and the only one that can come close SRV.

Now I am sure some will flame that remark, and trash John, which is fine... But it is still a pretty cool complement from a guy who setup and toured the world with the Great SRV

The video is also out on You Tube if you go search for 200 Guitars John Mayer
