Thanks! Yes, I have 182 of those reel to reel tapes with over 900 albums and other stuff recorded. Last time I recorded on tape was 1983, so, everything on my tapes are from 1966 to 1983.

It can be a dilemma of which guitar to play but lots of folks on the forum have many more to select from than I do.

Great score on both counts.
Congrats and enjoy!

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Great guitars, Jerry! That bound Telecaster, is it a thin-line model? Or does it have mahogany top bound onto the ash body?

Love the Les Paul, too. Bigsbys make the guitar a bit heavy, no?

How are the tones through the Super Reverb?

No, the Tele is not a Thinline model, just double bound with an ash body. The Bigsby does add some weight, my Deluxe Tele weighs 8.0 lbs, the new Classic Tele weighs 9.0 lbs. The Gibson weighs 8.2 lbs., the same as my Jazzmaster. Of course my heavy one is the Precision Bass coming in at 10.2 lbs, but it feel heaver than that. :)

To my tin ear, both the guitars sound good through the Super Reverb, but I think any guitar sounds good going through the SFSR :D

Jerry,

They bound separate pieces of ash top to body? I know my Les Paul has maple top bound to mahogany body. Bigsby on the Paul must be heavy.

Now, to get a semi-hollow or hollow one. 335?

Steve,

I don't know if they bound separate pieces of ash to the body on the Tele. I always though being "bound" just meant a separate piece of binding added to the edge of the top or top and bottom. I saw my luthier, Jon Harper of Apple Valley, CA, adding binding to a guitar he was working on.

The Les Paul Classic weighs 8.2 lbs (same as my Jazzmaster) and the Classic Tele weighs 9 lbs.

A 335 ? No. I've never had any interest in a 335 guitar. Too big! :D

oh man, I love the big girls. But if you want that style a little smaller, there's always a 339... (pictured on top of a 335 to show size difference):

At this point in time, I don't see myself GASing for a 335 or 339.
But, never say never!

I'm not really a fan of big semi-hollows, but I almost bought a Gretch Country Gentleman. They do play well, but personally, I would rather be seen wearing pink suspenders than one of those. If i could keep it a closet secret, perhaps an Epiphone Wildkat Royale....

Jerry, I really like my ancient 335. The guitar is so well balanced and lightweight. Tone range is great. Think mine has PAF 'buckers...
