We just made it into the tracks of the week on Classic Rock Magazine! http://classicrock.teamrock.com/feature ... he-week-53

Jenn Vix (my girlfriend) and John Ashton, who is the original guitarist for the Psychedelic Furs on guitar. I play bass on the track and I shot the video for it.

We just put out a 5 song EP with him on two songs and we've been trying to promote it all over the place. This just came in today. Maybe things are starting to look up now. It certainly doesn't hurt the press kit. I guess now you can finally hear my bass playing, since I've never posted anything here. :P I actually recorded the track "Woman With No Fear" on the Fender P Bass Lyte through the Rumble 350 combo a while back before that bass started having a short in it real bad and I retired it for now, so it is Fender related, too. I'm pretty positive I used the Rumble, because I know I used it a couple of time to record.

Outstanding! Great song all around, Paul, and great bass playing. Your girlfriend sounds great. I'm really impressed that you made a song with John Ashton, Talk Talk Talk was one of my favorite albums back in my college days. Anyway, I hope there will be more, that was very intense.

Thank you very much. This was something I wasn't expecting, that's for sure!

By the way, Jenn previously recorded two tracks with ex David Bowie/current The Cure guitarist, Reeves Gabrels and we've also did two tracks with the former Cure drummer Andy Anderson, which I played bass on as well. That was something for me because the Cure is a band that has been a major influence on me. Jenn is also a bassist, besides doing the vocals, songwriting, keyboards, guitar, and studio engineering (we have our own studio.) I take care of the live bass duties with some studio tracks, too.

The header is not true.
That a hard working talented player gets recognition is not unbelievable at all. Well done.

Thank you for your comments. 8) We're still trying to get into a few more things, hopefully BBC6 radio, which would be really huge for us. We have gotten some airplay here and there internationally and we're scheduled to play live on the air at WBRU in Providence in sometime in January. Right now we're looking for a guitarist for that gig. That's something that's always been problematic for us, unfortunately. Finding people to play with that won't flake out on you.

Congrats on the recognition. Good stuff all around, Paul. You definitely have it together. Enjoyed the song, the playing, the vocals, the mix, and the campy video with the symbolic serpent. Love your bass arrangements. Wish you all the success you've worked so hard for.

Thanks for the comments. 8) My girlfriend deserves all of the credit, really. She's worked very hard for a long time and had to deal with a lot of $@!& along the way. I'm just lucky to be with her and fortunate enough to be able to take part even in some things I'd never thought possible beforehand.

The first thing was I was able to hear myself for the first time on a radio station, even before playing with anyone of this stuff coming out. Sure it was a community radio station, but imagine just sitting around listening to the radio and all of the sudden you hear yourself on a song that's being played. It's so much different that if you just listened to a recording you might have made for yourself. It's a different vibe all together. I'll never forget that.
