Hi Jeffo, I actually get most of my guitars from Germany, ( Thomann ) Good prices, free shipping and surprisingly fast delivery and the after sales is good. Very important, I think.

How does that work with warranties? I imagine that you can fix most things yourself, but if, say, a pickup dies, do you have to ship the entire guitar back and do customs paperwork and all that? And do you get to pay the lower German VAT?

I've gone back to heavy rock now, I'm a big Michael Schenker, Scorpions, UFO fan.

Heretic! Uli Jon Roth!
(They're both great) :D

Although I am 65 now I refuse to be an old age pensioner, so I think I,m in denial,, lol I've gone back to my youth and enjoying every minute of it. After all, life is what you make of it. :D

As Forrest Gump so famously didn't say, life is like a heart and liver pie. It can be nasty, but most of the time it's oozing goodness.
And 65 is nothing. You can still look forward, not back.

Ermm, a lot of questions here. Stratman, like you say I have a varied collection that covers anything I can think of, I have a classical, a dobro and 6 string banjo tucked away in the store room.
Which is my favourite at the moment? Well that would have to be the black Razorback V over to the far right in the pics but I'm into rock at the moment, it could change in a month to another one.
Arth, like I say the after sales is good and I've been a regular customer. Nothing as actually happened yet but I've been assured that if I send them the repair bill and photographs from my guitar tech they will give me a refund.
Uli Jon Roth. Oh man !! how could I forget him. I saw him in the mid seventies and I was stood right in front of him in a small club and he was brilliant then. I had the chance to see him earlier this year, he was playing just a few miles away from me and I had to miss him. I'll make sure I catch him next time.
Yes, the future is there, waiting. Funny how you get older you find hang up's drop away from you and you begin to appreciate and enjoy life more. So Cheers !! to all the good times we have.
One last thing I should mention. That collection did not appear over night, not that I'm suggesting anyone thought that but it's been building since 2003 when I stopped smoking and drinking ( a lot )
I went through 3 packs of cigs a day and 6 pints of beer down the pub at night, 7 days a week and then one day my doc scared me big time. After an x-ray they found I had COPD which is not good so I had to stop the cigs and of course the drink because, when I had a drink I wanted a cig.
The point of all this is I never had any money and at today's prices I'm saving £250.00 a week 1000 a month and that is a decent guitar. So the truth is stopping smoking and drinking bought all my guitars, amps pedals, everything .
Just thought I'd mention that. Cheers, LOL

Great collection, Rhumba. That sea foam green Strat caught my eye. What can you tell us about her?

Cheers!

Hi Blue Monkey, that one is the Jeff Beck signature model.
Cheers

In that case I stand to correct myself on the sea foam green in favour of SURF GREEN!

I just read in your post how this collection got started. Congrats, kudos, and every good wish over to your side of the Atlantic for 65 more!

Cheers!

Hi there again, I hadn't realized you'd written sea foam green, lol but what the heck anyway.
Oh and thanks for your kind message, have a great Christmas on that side of the pond.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
