Thanks! So am I an old fart yet, or does that kick in when I'm 50? :P The funny thing is when I was a kid, the number 44 had always stuck out to me for some reason. Maybe something will happen this year, who knows? There is quite a few things going in my life right now.

Thanks. Yeah, there's definitely a few irons in the fire, as the saying goes. 8)

Hey, Paul. I may have missed your big day; but, the BIG WISHES are coming your way today.

Being 44 or 50 doesn't make you an old fart. First you have to feel it (I first felt it when adults automatically started calling me Mister So and So), and second knowing that there is an older fart is always some consolation. I'll stand in as the older fart if ya want (as long as you don't call me an old fart).

Thanks! You know music has always kept me young, so I never felt like an old fart to begin with, at least mentally. Besides, I had a feeling that some of you wouldn't say I was one anyway, because some of you are technically old enough enough to be my father and if I was an old fart, then that would make you...? :P Age is funny thing, isn't it? :P

It's funny how time flies, though. It's actually been 4 years since we've played our last gig in NYC. I remember it because it was on the 3rd of December right after my 40th birthday and I bought a Fender Rumble 350 combo amp a month later because I needed something better than a borrowed keyboard amp, or whatever was available in a club, which I had to use at the time. That's what led me here, although on another account. I still have another year on the warranty for that amp, too. It's still kicking by the way, even though it's relegated to backup status now, more or less. It's actually a good amp. It doesn't even seem that long ago.

I still remember the first beer I bought legally on my 21st birthday. It was a quart of Busch beer at a 7-11 convenience store on Park Street in St. Petersburg, Florida. I was working with my brother with my dad's lawn service business and we stopped there after work. Now that seems like a long time ago, but it was half my lifetime and a lot of stuff happened to me since then. Three siblings of mine died including that brother, I got married and divorced, moved out of state to start my life over, and who knows how many different musicians I've played with since then. People come and go and life goes on.

Sorry to hear of the rough ride you've had, Paul.

Life is certainly a roller coaster and, although some things are not specifically chosen, we often find ourselves going along for the ride. Sometimes it's slow, sometimes it's fast, sometimes it's up, sometimes it's down; but, one thing for sure we are not alone on this cyclone as others are also on the ride. The older we get the better observation we have of that ride, and we know when and how to get off. Never-the-less the ride will always be there, but having one's feet on the ground is always a welcome option.

Once on the ground we have many choices and directions to choose from. It appears that you have chosen well, and music and this forum are a good choice and direction to follow IMHO.

Glad you're here. Keep on keepin' on, Paul. Now crank it up and rock on for another 44+ :D

Thanks. That's really all you can do is keep on keeping on. That's how I try to look at things. It beats the alternative, that's for certain. :P

I like Roy Roger's actual last words at his death, "Well Lord, it's been a rough ride." A class man all the way to meeting his maker.
