Les Paul's don't suck. They're really good guitars. They're just different then strats. Never listen when people tell you things suck. You might try a Les Paul next week at the guitar store and just fall in love with it.

They're both great guitars built for different things, which is why I own one of each.

It helps to be well rounded, try different things and form your own opinions :)

I think that Les Pauls are great guitars, they play well and have great tone. They are just a couple thousand dollars out of my price range.

i wont use the word suck lets just say to me
a les paul is pretty much worthless. my opinion
and yes i did own one 24 years ago today i only
play strats. i find a les paul tone to be weak
no matter what distortion pedal you use.

Yes, this is a Fender board, but let me say--I love Les Pauls--but there are several types--and depending on the type & the year, etc, some will be much better than others. My favorite guitar that I own is a Les Paul, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying my Mustang. I never want to give up either one.

I have both Fenders and Gibsons. I love both equally for different reasons.

I don't think that Gibson guitars suck, more to the contrary. I do think that the Gibson company sucks. I'd buy one of their guitars if I didn't need to take out a personal loan to aquire a quality one.

Don't listen to that they are great guitars. Every great guitar player out there plays them, most guitarist play more then one style of guitar just because of the sound they try to get is different for every piece. No one guitar is a do it all axe.

Hey all... you know we constantly compare guitars here. There are so many to be had, from Fender, Ibanez, Jackson, Gibson, Parker, ESP, Washburn... and the list goes on and on. Some brands may play better than others, and are more expensive. And they all sound and perform differently when played, but keep in mind, they are all meant to do one thing... create music.

We all have our preferences in brand, style and affordability, but it is how well we play that guitar that makes it what it is.
