I use Fender strings and some others as well. Never had a problem with them. I'm planning on putting some new Super Bullets on my Strat tomorrow!

I need a wee bit of advice:

A) Are fender strings anygood?
B) Flatwound or Roundwound?

i'm in a band which plays stuff like Maiden, Guns and Roses, RHCP, and Actic Monkeys, and i have a P-bass. if that helps.

I use the .010 Bullets on some Strats that get moderate trem use and find that they do stay in tune better.

As far as Bass Strings go...

I play in two projects. One a blues rock outfit in which I use Fender 9050ML's (flatwounds), on my P with the raised a's in it. They take quite awhile to break in, but if you want some old school thump there's nothing like 'em.

For the hard rock band I'm in I use DM Skullbusters, on my main bass for that band as that P has the SD 1/4lbs. in it and I wanted it to be the most aggressive P I could get...and it is.

However, I just got another P and I'm planning on putting on a set of Fender 7150M's (original nickelwound rounds). They are possibly my favorite strings of all time and sound great on a P or especially an SCPB.
Those strings on a P will give me the ability to get a more aggressive sound in the blues rock band, or a more traditional old school sound in the hard rock band. They're pretty hard to beat.

As far as guitars, I strung my drummers strat up with the Heavy Gauge Super Bullets (3250H). Wow, what a great set of strings...really easy to get a dirty raunchy sound out of them.

I don't use them as when I have used them in the past, they seem to wear out and get dirty faster than other strings. I prefer D'Addario EXL115 (11-49).

If you use tremolo on your strat with any frequency, you'll find the bullets seat a little better in the block. However, where I live, the Fenders are harder to find in my preferred gauge (That's right Bowlfreshener, I'm the other guy buying up all the stock on the EXL-115s  )

I also agree they don't seem to last as long as other brands.

Dynamaxx are as good as any of the other nickel-plated steel regular brands, like ernie Ball, D'Addario, etc. I'd like to see a Danny Gatton Dynamaxx set - 10, 13, 15, 26, 36, 46

Love the Fender Bass VI string set

I use Bullets exclusively on my Strats, but only because they do tend to stay tuned better ... I have found that the lo-E goes "dead" pretty quick and that's a shame because much of the tone I get from my guitars comes from the piano-like chime of the low end ... Solution? ... I change my strings often ... Otherwise, I like GHS Boomers (.10 - .46)

Anyone ever take the 'bullets' off the fender strings,
and put them on the aftermarket strings? (i.e. Ernie Balls)
