just want to put back to as near to original as possible. in 1975 I took out the pickups, and put in super distortions. very stupid , who knew these guitars would be valuable some day? used to buy and sell old fenders like people do cell phones today. this was my first and the one I kept. so the question is ; in the long run will the guitar be much more valuable with era correct pickups. or custom replicated new pickups? the wiring will also need to be redone, nothing else. I would never dream of refinishing I can get era correct for 500. to 6oo. as the guitar has already been altered not sure if the extra $400.00 should be spent? do hope to sell for a nice price one day.

it takes a while foe the memory to start working, but, the beach sound did not work in the skynyrd ,nugent era . in the 70s no one would ever have played in front of humans with these stock junk pickups. unless you were in a church group(no offence intended) maybe one day it would be worth more with the stock pickups ripped out and replaced with double hummbucker supper distortions(from that era). if I do restore the pickups back to original, I will keep the super distortions one day my grandson may reinstall them . if it was not a vintage guitar I would never put original pickups back into it
. sorry but just being honest.
