I've got a bunch of single coil pickups (some are shot), so which of these 18 settings on my new multimeter do I use? V-200, V-Ohm200K, A-200U, A-2m? Etc.
Do I use the same setting to check humbuckers?
Thanks in advance.

Set your meter for "OHMS" and use the 20KΩ scale. These parameters are identical for both single-coil and humbucking pickups. Do not touch the probes or the pickup lead-in wires when you take your measurements lest your body's own resistance taint your findings (alligator clips are best).

Thanks, Retro. Now I get to finish this Fender project---an old Tele neck with a new Squier body, with tons of pickups to choose from.
