I did a build on a Strat that utilized the following:

Fender Vintage Noiseless in the neck (black and white wires, with white to switch)
2009 Alnico V out of a USA Strat in the middle (red and black wires, with red to switch)
Seymour Duncan SSL-1 in the bridge (white and black wires, with white to switch)
Capacitor running from center lug of the mid tone control to back of neck tone control.

Anyhow in position 4 the volume is just way too weak! Something is off. Height level my neck pup is set at a medium height and the middle pup is actually the closest distance wise from the strings (I know most would suggest to keep it low to get a good quack, but...)

Is this an out of phase issue with the middle pickup? Should I reverse the wires?

Thanks for any help!

Sounds like the issue may be with the capacitor.

Yeah I'm thinking this might be the case. I installed a .047 cap and did some copper tape shielding at the same time I did this build. Those things probably choking out the 2 modern style pickups, unlike that vintage sounding SSL-1 in the bridge.

I'm going to open it up and swap in a .022 cap and while there hook the mid position tone knob up to the bridge pickup instead.
