I have an American Standard Strat that I bought new back in 98. Does anyone know what pickups were used in these at that time?

AlNiCo V single coils with flushed pole pieces. Fender went to custom staggered poles two years later.

Your guitar sports a DeltaTone circuit with a special no-load tone control for the middle & bridge pickups.

Thanks man appreciate your response.
I bought this strat new and it's the only guitar I've ever had that didn't need set up or adjusted in some way. All these years and she's been a workhorse and a dream to play.
These pups sound great clean and dirty. I tend not to over analyze why these sound so good but they do.

Nice guitar you have there.

I have an Am Standard from 2000, with staggered poles that sound thin and pale.

As the guitar is a rare bird (hard-tail), I swapped the pups with Fat 50's.

Day and night!

I believe those are plastic bobbin pickups, wound around 6k.
