Hello lads,

I bought this Fender case about one year ago. The seller told me it was laying on his attic for a decent amount of years. This must be true since it was really dirty and even had spiders inside it.

It seems really hard to find in what year it was built. I can't find a serial number nor any other indicators. Is anyone possible to tell me what year this case was made in?

The case is in mint condition. Has locks made of steel and a handle made of hardend plastic. The photos will tell you more, hope to hear from you guys!

Allright yea I can imagine. Just think there would be different details in the Fender logo on the case. Don't know if this is true though.

Have a look here ;

" Mid to late 1970s: The logo on the black tolex case changed yet again. No "tail", a bigger "R" (registered) mark, and a "Made in USA" marking. Also the interior of the case got more padding. "

+1

I'd date it to sometime in the '70s. In mid decade, Victoria Luggage (Fender's original supplier of cases) ceased manufacturing and G&G was contracted to make them. Both companies used the Cheney latches and hinges and the shells and interior were nearly identical; thus it's difficult to discern who actually built your case.

Thanks alot! mid to late 70's that makes it alot more specific. Would als be nice to know the producer indeed. If anyone has great thoughts about that, hit me with your best shot. But this great info already.
