After playing with my 6 Strats today. It seems I always come back to the American Standard Delta Tone Circuts and Pickups.
I have noiseless and Texas Special along with 57 and 62's but those pickups used in the 80's and 90's Strats just kill me on the Quack. Maybe it is just the age but man I love em.

Anyone else favor thses?

IMO, the Delta Tone pickups are excellent utility pickups. Meaning, they sound quite good and cover a lot of ground in terms of versatility. I never had any problems trusting them to come through for me on many a diverse gig. And yes, I think I'd have to agree with you in the sense that they would be my favorite Fender pickup set for Strats too with one exception: Call me crazy but I don't like mixing humbucking with non-humbucking so, I'd prefer the middle pickup to not be RW/RP.

Something to consider though: If you are perfectly happy with your various Fender pickup sets, that's great. On the other hand, I recommend you not just limit yourself to Fender pickups and explore some of the other brands out there too. You just might find some that will really bowl you over.

I like any low output alnico pickups.

I find that a few twists of my amp's controls can take care of differences between my different sets of low output pickups (stock, Delta Tone, 57/62, etc).

For years...well, I was putting aftermarket stuff in my strats.

My HWY 1....I really like those single coil Alcino III's. BUT:

I'm excited about getting my '69's. Really excited.

Great point. However, if you're a tone freak, (or if you play with crunch somewhere between ungodly insane and completely clean) then pups do become sort of a thing to consider...

And, IMHO this is where the stock pickups shine. (There's also the question of modern recording. Another reason I dumped my aftermarket stuff...the pickups were SO hot that my Pro Tools hookup couldn't do a direct plug in...there wasn't enough Db padding available and the overall tone was awful...)

Yup, that's why I try to avoid high output pickups. They don't offer a good clean sound. If all you were playing was high gain distortion stuff, then high output pups are for you, but that's no my thing. I need to get a decent clean jangle as well as a crunchy dirt.

Texas Specials are my fav's. They are great for classic rock, blues, and punks. The special thing about them is you can actually get a great Jimi sound.

Pete Biltoft Vintage Vibe SP90s

A single coil voiced like a P90 sized to fit into a standard Stratocaster slot. Great fat and funky tone, but you still retain the spank and sparkle of a Stratocaster; they're very quiet, too (great shielding, construction). With the slotted panhead pole pieces, they look great too!

I give them an 11 on a scale of 10.

Good Vibes To Y'all... 8)
