Which is the better choice between these 3 pickups for the neck slot? I have DAllen "Dover's" (Eric Johnson 'flavored' set) with an alnico 3 middle and alnico 5 bridge. Want to replace the neck only (which is an alnico 3, if that matters), since it has a 50mm size cover and I am looking to change cosmetics to Fender aged white covers & parts and covers are all 52mm of course for Fenders. Suggestions please.

Thanks for any replies.

I'd be partial to a Fat '50s neck pickup because of its enhanced output. Another worthy consideration would be a Texas Special (for similar reasons). The CS54 pickups are voiced pretty bright and both they and the CS69's are relatively low-gain.

Thanks. Here are the specs on what is in there:

Neck 5.8k Middle 6.1k Bridge 6.85k
Inductance Neck 2.76 Middle 2.95 Bridge 3.26 by Henries

So is a Fat 50's pretty much a match for the neck in there now? Also, set currently is RWRP, so assume a Fat 50's will still give that in position 4?

The Fat '50s neck pickup is spec'd to 6.0K while the Texas Special is advertised as being 6.2K. Both sets feature a RW/RP middle pickup so if your current middle pickup is as well, either of those Fender neck pickups should deliver ample quack in position 4.

+1 on Fat 50s for neck.
