I'm looking for opinions on the Fender Noiseless Pickups. Do they put out an honest and quality Fender sound ? Any reviews bad or good would be appreciated. They sure don't use them in many of their guitars.

Fender's standard noiseless pickups sound *okay* but I've really only played them in stores, usually when demo'ing an amp. They do eliminate the pesky hum but they do not sound nearly as articulate as traditional single coils. The now-OOP SCN's sound "strattier" but still lack some of the punch associated with Fender's more common sets. If noiseless is a prerequisite then I'd recommend Kinman's or DiMarzio's. The former are pricey but deliver a beautifully-detailed tone. OTOH, the latter are nearly as tasty at about half the price. The DiMarzio's use Fender's standard 250K volume and tone pots -- I'm not sure about the Kinmans.

Thanks. The American Special Strat is what I'm ordering. I have not played Texas Specials. I had Tex Mex pups on a Jimmie Vaughan. I usually go to Lace Sensors on my Strats. I think I will head toward Dimarzio if I feel the need for a change. Their Dual Rails design has gotten the attention of many players from Sonny Landrith to Mick Taylor. I have DVDs of both of them using these quiet, fine sounding pups. And the fit right in.
