hi,
i've purchased a Stratocaster mid boost kit (057577000), and i've wired it as shown in the diagram, along with a set of Vintage Noiseless Pickups.
The problem is, the 250K tone pot does not deliver the gain as shown on various videos online. It merely pumps up the volume a bit more.
can anybody help?

First I don't know these kit . Are they suggest you keep 250K tone pots ?

Second , can you trust the videos on line ? Videos are about the same kit as yours ? Same pickups as yours ?

Have you any link for the boost kit diagram and videos ?

Read that ; forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?t=41858

What do you mean by "gain"? Many people misuse that word to mean "distortion". The midboost doesn't add distortion - if your amp is turned up loud, right on the verge of ditortion, the midboost will drive the amp into distortion. But at low volumes the midboost will just raise the volume. (It should be a significant increase - the 25dB boost more than doubles the guitar's output.)

You're right, the volume boost is quite significant.
i have a hot rod deluxe III 40W tube amp, and i usually don't go past 2 on the volume knob.
i'll try cranking that up to more significant levels, hopefully i'll get the sound i'm looking for.
thanks.

I have a Clapton 'Blackie' and also a Standard I fitted the mid-boost kit into. It will not make the guitar significantly louder, it was designed to thicken the sound and essentially boost and fatten the single coil like output into vintage 'bucker territory. Neither of mine get appreciably louder, but they do let you drive the amp harder.

The mid boost kit is also suitable for use with regular full-sized humbuckers, not just single coils.
