I'm looking to buy a 2012 Am. Std Strat, used, and would like to know if there is any way that I can verify that the pickups are the stock Fat 50's...? Any distinguishing markings or features on them? Thanks

Other than the hand-beveled staggered magnets, no -- there are no outwardly-visible indications to differentiate the Fat 50's from say, the Texas Special's, the CS 54's, or the 57/62's. Removing the pickguard from the guitar will reveal black bobbins for all three pickups, with the middle RW/RP coil equipped with yellow and black lead-in wires. Periodically, they will be marked with a Custom Shop sticker on the bottom (regular production guitars may lack this detail).

I realize I'm late to the game here, but the best way to be most confident by just looking at them is to remove the pickguard from the guitar body and look "under the hood" for four things...

As previously mentioned, the middle pickup will have the yellow and black leads.
The bridge pickup should have a red dot painted on the bottom of one of the magnets.
The neck pickup should have a blue dot painted on the bottom of one of the magnets.
The coil wire for each pickup will be orange or copper colored, indicating formvar wire.

If all 4 of these observations are made, then you have a 99% chance that you have stock Fat 50s pickups. Sometimes they will not put the red and blue dots on the bridge and neck pickups, so don't be too alarmed if that is the case. Other than this though, you will need to measure the DC resistance of each pickup to be more confident.
