Bought a Fender FT004 Clip-On Tuner yesterday. It lasted exactly one (1) day.
Must be a POS.

Left the battery out overnite and today seems to be working OK. ?????? Still have some doubt about its performance. Will wait for final assessment.

The "Snark" headstock tuners have worked great for me and they are not expensive. I have a burgundy one and have tried a few of the black ones. They work the same and are quality items.

Maybe the stock battery in your Fender headstock tuner needs to be replaced.

What does this mean? I find that installing a battery in a device that requires a battery matters. Is there more to that statement?

The Snark's work pretty good. I have three of them. I always keep extra new batteries available.

I wouldn't mind trying out another brand though, like Korg.

These headstock tuners are cheap and work great. No more extra cable connections and circuits (that can introduce noise).

They are easy to lose though. I like taking them to music stores when I want to try out some guitars because it is always a hassle to use their big wall tuners, that are usually more than half worn out already anyway. But it is easy to forget them and leave them on the guitar. I have to be very careful about that. They can fall off too, so I am very conscious of my headstock tuner when I take it out of the house.

My Snarks all eat those coin shaped batteries even though they have the auto shutoff feature. I've even tried removing it between use.

I'm still looking for a good clip-on that doesn't drain the battery as fast.

My fender does require me to pull the battery every now and again. It just stops working.

It stops working right. Pull the battery for a few seconds. The then it works fine. Odd.

I love my Snark--works very well, and it doesn't burn through batteries.

Nice to know - I was able to get no-cost replacement and hoping for better battery life.

Some people say their Snark does go through batteries more quickly--I guess it depends on how you use it, and how long you leave it one before the auto shut off comes in.

I was going through Energizer CR2032s about every 3 weeks, the newer ones seem much better....so far!
