We all know that the Clapton circuit requires a 9V supply in order to function.

From what I recall EMG offers their active mid boost circuits with an optional 18V supply.

It's possible to "mod" the TBX and MDX schemes to accept two 9V batteries instead of one?

TBX is passive. No battery required.

If the components in the MDX are rated for 18 volts, you could, but that would require detailed knowledge of the circuit and components used. I don't see the advantage, though. For a clean boost, higher power supply voltage would provide more headroom, but for the purposes of emulating a humbucker type sound in the midrange I doubt it would make much difference. Plus you would have to find room for two batteries instead of one. Maybe someone here has tried it.
