i have a fender squier strat and was wondering if the scratch plates for real stratocasters will fit on it. i was also wondering if humbuckers would look totaly stupid on it and were i can get some at reasonable prices

go to www.pickguards.com and talk to them about the pickguard. As for the humbuckers: it won't look stupid, just different.

I saw a guitar on line that was supposed to look like Swiss cheese, with holes cut in it all over and a little stuffed mouse in one of the holes, that was kind of stupid...

Humbuckers rock, go for it.

Get a cover on them if anything, don't get open coils, and get seymour duncan Jazz, or a Dimarzio PAF, for a good sound :D

You gotta be kidding me open coil pickups own for rock and work really well with distortion and gain. The really do sound amazing and thats all the guitarist likes. I swear i am not into metal or really hard rock but they sound great with good old rock and classic rock.Don't hesistate grab some open coils!
