Hey out there in Fender Forum land. I have a Texas Special in the neck on my MIM Strat (It's not the neck version PU, but instead the bridge. I like it better that way), and was thinking of putting in the TS/mid PU to keep the calibration in the ball park between the two. I was wondering, could I use a Tex Mex in the middle, thus saving me several dollars I could use on strings? Can anyone tell the the specs on the Tex Mex mid (What ohms value does it posses, Henrie's, resonate peak, etc)? The price difference is $39.00 for the Tex Mex, and $79.00 for the Texas Special.

The best I can do is relate the published specs from Fender's 2001 Frontline catalog.

The middle pickup in the Tex Mex Strat set is shown as......

6.4 Kohms, DC resistance
2.75 Henries, inductance

The coil is RW/RP and the pole pieces are fabricated from Alnico V.

Bro, I really appreciate the feed-back. You have helped me narrow my decision on which PU to purchase. Guess I'll have to hit You Tube to hear the tonal distinctions. Thanks again Bro...
