Hi all..Just joined up:) Just looking for some info on some pickups and any help is appreciated. I have a set of strat pickups. Grey bottoms like the 69 custom shops but they are the ones without the CS sticker but rather just a letter to mark the pickup hand written on..B, M, N..Are these pickups from a 70s classic series usa strat and are they the same as 69 Cs pickups?

The only "70's Classic Series" Strat I'm aware of is made in Ensenada, Mexico. And the CS '69 pickups are "universal fit" (there are no distinctions between the bridge, middle, and neck pickup). Thus, it's unlikely that they'd be marked "B", "M", and "N"

Are the pole pieces on your pickups staggered or flat? Are they beveled at the top? Does the "M" pickup have leads colored yellow and black (indicating a RP/RW coil)? Have you measured the DCR with a multimeter? These answers may help you pin down their pedigree.

Thanks for the reply:) Possibly from a american vintage 70s RI? I have seen another set sold that appear to be identical to mine..No CS sticker and hand written Letters on them sold as 69 CS pickups which is what I was told these are..I don' have them yet, just purchased them earlier this week and only have pics to go by..From the pics the poles are staggered and do not appear to be beveled. All the wires are white and black. When I get them I am going to test them with my meter and can add pics and the readings.

Could be......the details seem correct.

Did some more searching around and I believe these PU's are from a Fender '60s Classic Player Reissue Stratocaster..The 70s has grey bottoms but with plastic leads not cloth covered. The 60s however have 69 CS but no stickers on the bottom just like these..So the guy I bought them from may have been mistaken. They read 5.4, 5.3, 5.4
