I know it is a carzy question but I was wondering if you can mix the vintage Customshop pickups with other Brands.I like the 69's but may want to change out the bridge for something hotter.

Is there some dangers in doing this? Or do you have to make other changes to accomadate. I have not do this before all my guitars have been stock.

Opinions welcomed

There is no "danger" per se, when mixing brands or models within the same brand. One can however, run into phasing and/or polarity conflicts which may or may not be resolvable, depending on how the pickups are constructed.

As above, there's no harm that can come from mixing any pickups with any other pickups.

Phase & polarity definitely need taking into account though - for example, wire in a Seymour Duncan pickup alongside a Fender one, and you'll find the mix positions are out of phase until you flip the wiring on one of the pickups.

Thanks

Also since the Middel pickup is not reverse wound would that pose further challenges?
Any recommendations on Bridge pickups for this type of config?

Hi:
I installed a Duncan ssl5 in the bridge position in my mim Strat.
I am happy with that combination.
You just need to ground the white wire and black wire goes to
selector switch. (Fender pickups are: black to ground white to switch.)
It is a higher output than the 69s but it's not a problem for me
as I use it for lead playing mostly.
As a famous other planet dweller would say: "YMMV".

Edit: Forgot to mention my other 2 pups are CS 69s.

My mileage doesn't vary on this one, I'm in complete agreement.
