I purchased an American deluxe strat and the scn's with the factory strings (9s) were incredible. But two of the strings broke so I had my guitar shop (which offered free setups with a new purchase) setup and re-string the guitar with 10's. After I got it back the 4th - 6th strings were buzzing and the sound was low. The guitar shop was able to get most of the buzzing out but my sound seems low. Maybe like a pickup is not working. Dont know. I have to almost max out the volume to even hear it. Does anyone know how I can test my pickups to make sure they're working? Any help would be appreciated.

If it still buzzes the setup still isn't right. It sounds like the pickups need to be adjusted too. Take it back and have them fix it. It is still under warranty.

Yes, it’s still under warranty. It’s only 3 weeks old. Actually the string buzz is not my main concern at the moment. It’s not very noticeable. My concern is the low sound from the guitar. The one thing that hurts me in this situation is that I am new to music and not having any experience I’m uncertain on what to do.

Thanks for the advise, I was able to solve my low sound problem by raising my pickups up a little and now the sound is back to normal.
