I have a 1962 Jazzmaster(Sunburst) that I have not played in years. I get either no sound or a staticy sound when the rhythm switch is activated. I assume it is the switch because the pups are OK on the other channel. At this point what do I need to do to assess the situation and what parts would I possible need which may be premature since I have not dismantled it and not found the culprit? Thanks for any advice.

+1 for De-oxit!

If cleaning the switch produces no positive result, it's likely time to replace that switch. You'll find many vintage replacement parts for your Jazzmaster here......
