I want to install an s1 switch into my project strat which has already got a mid boost circuit in it and I was wondering if I could install a toggle switch rather than and S1 switch and would that give me any trouble?

My below Super Strat has five (5) varitone toggle switches installed.
You can see better with the close-up shot. Ultimately, if your guitar tech has the goods,
you can toggle bright/dark, and some power boost, etc. Make sure to see if you desire
the tone knobs working the same for both pre & post boost modes.

Following is my Super HHH Strat with three (3) Seymour Duncan Hot/Cool/Cool Rail Humbuckers.
The installed toggle switch changes the phasing. Custom wiring & controls described below.

Switching/Wiring for this HHH Three Humbucker Stratocaster:
* Custom Designed Stratocaster Electronics * 3 Humbuckers (splitable)
* The volume knobs act like a mixer ~ Master volume for all three pickups
* Two (2) additional volume controls. One for both the neck & middle pickups;
Another for the bridge pickup. After the two lower Volume controls are set,
the Master Volume manages both. It’s like the double volume switching
on all Les Paul guitars - all with a master volume.
* Each knob is push/pull as well:
Vol 1 - add bridge to all positions on the 5-way
Vol 2 - single coil neck/mid
Vol 3 - single coil bridge
Up/Down Toggle Switch = in/out-phase

Howdy!

What do want the S-1 or the toggle switch to do? Extra pickup combos like the deluxe? If so there's a thread for that.

Let us know! :D

Cheers!

Andy

Toppscore,

Its not cool to hi-jack a someones thread, especially when the OP is asking for help.

BTW: That Strat of yours is a modded Starcaster that's been kicking around ebay for a while. It is not master built as you claim in other posts and does not have a "Varitone" switching (which traditionally is a one rotary switch). Just a bunch of poorly placed toggles which I doubt you honestly know their function.

Create your own thread for your gear and stop spamming everyone's else's.

Andy

Am not hijacking a thread. You are spamming this thread.
I am sharing some switching options I own.
It is Starcaster Strat wood, all else has been replaced. What do you know?
The seller is a luthier. What do you know?
Seller claims varitone. Rotary is one option. What do you know?
Switching is another option. You know all? Doubt it.
You seen all? Doubt it.
Start your own thread of varitone possibilities. You won't.
Maybe inquire more before you belittle. You won't.
Love to spout your opinion. You do.
Spam your closed minded little self. You do by commenting, anyway.

There a tons of options, possibilities, ideas, opinons, experiences,
wiring efforts, and thoughts you just know nothing about.
You have experienced what you do know. You have not experienced all. Right?

You do not know what you do not know. Right?
Your mind is your narrow minded opinion. Right?

Open up and BE AN INQUIRY. OK?
You might investigate more possibility before you opinionate all over someone else. Try it. OK?
Big hairy, open your mind, your eyes, your ears. You know some, but not all.
You know more than me. But not all. I do not care. Add your thoughts.
Don't belittle or condensend. You know better.
Use your brain before it centers around your "opinion(s)".
