Hi, I went to a shop to buy upgrades pots to my 2 squier guitars, I ask for CTS pots and the repair man gave me all parts pots (wich in the back of the little box says: CTS 250k pots)... My confusion is becouse I thought CTS was a brand, but I received All Parts :?:

Just want to make this clear :P

If the EIA code stamped on the rear of the pot's sheet-metal housing reads "137-XXXXXX" then they're genuine CTS pots.

All Parts sells CTS pots. They also sell Fender labeled CTS pots. Same thing, just different labels.

First of all, CTS pots are not used in Squiers.

Secondly, Arjay told you to check the EIA code on the back of the pot. Did you?

Finally, according to the All Parts website, what you bought was manufactured by CTS. CTS does not package the parts for resale. The reseller does that. All of the CTS pots I have purchased from various retailers have come in simple plastic bags with stick on labels.

+1

That's how Fender itself sells them. I usually buy pots from Angela Instruments, sold in trios as a "premium wiring set" which also includes the Oak/Grigsby 5-way switch, ample cloth push-back wire in various common colors, and even some tin/lead solder.

The 250K pot is standard for use with traditional single-coil pickups as a volume and tone control, and has been for the last sixty years or so.

You'll be fine.
