Hi all . I don't know if this is the right place to post, but I'll repost a question i put out at the Squier bass forum a week ago. Got nearly 50 views, but no answers...anyhow- here it is :

Hello eveyone! This is my first post at the Squier Forums. Although I've got 3 squiers. I am not a bass player , but 2 of them are basses.... One Affinity J-bass , and one VM Jazzbass , fretless.
I play them from time to time - especially if a bass is needed for some amateur-recording.
My question is about the Affinity : I like it very much , but I find the sound from the different strings uneven . The strings are pretty new- I even think the action-height is pretty even. Is this normal for basses - or should I change the pickups? Or is it any other tricks to even out the sound? (compressor?) Or are the basses supposed to act this way? Or should I just save up the money for a Fender.........
Thanks in advance

:D
