Hi there,

I have an Amercan Deluxe Stratocaster with wonderful lace sensors.
For some weird reason, the pick-up closest to the neck stops giving any signals after a couple of months.
After opening the guitar, re-soldering it to the 5-position switch, the problem is gone again for a few months - and I have to start this over again.

Any idea what might be wrong?

Wim

I would just re-flow all the solder joints in the circuit to make sure that they are all solid.

The contacts on the switch for that position need to be pinched a bit closer to each other. The reason being, a tighter connection needs to be made between the contacts and the switch lever, as the lever slides between the two contacts in order to engage that pickup.
