ive read on boutique pickup builder website how the emphasis on scatterwinding is
used on their pickups. (they state it adds clarity, and depth to the pickup).
wire type, formvar, coated enamel, number of windings affect tone, besides magnet strength, A2,3,5.
does it really improve tone?
is scatter winding used throughout or sporadicly? and are the fender custom shop pickups
handwound scatterwound ie, fat 50s,cs 69s, texas specials, cs 54s?

Boutique pickup builders are interested in precisely one thing, and that's to sell you a set of pickups (the same as the major manufacturers). All the cyber-hype in the world cannot replace your own discriminating ear when it comes to a decision to buy -- or not. I've heard $400 Joe Barden's sound like tonal turds and conversely, a $135 set of basic Fender 57/62's sound like sonic nirvana. There are literally so many variables at play that it almost defies one's ability to quantify the salient parameters. Do your research before purchase and rely on independent reviews lest the published results be tainted via "checkbook journalism". Also, bear in mind that no two pickups or pickup sets (even those that are mass-produced by the same company) will necessarily sound the same. There are always nuanced variables at play that may produce some audible variation which might or might not be sonically pleasing to the ear.

figures...lol
im in the market for some pickups for my 57 hr, i was thinking some mothers milk bks
or kleins, or fat 50s. or just might keep it simple and get some 57/62s since they wont have a rwrp middle pickup might just make it a little closer to vintage spec.
with some modern appointments.
am trying for some variety though.

You are correct,
I have the cash for the 57/62 pickups or even the bks
I'm also leaning toward the ssl1 by Seymour
Research goes on
