Saw one of my favorite bands tonight, Swervedriver, at the Key Club in LA. The singer plays a Jazzmaster with P90s (and uses the vibrato like nobodies business) and the other guitarist plays an LP. So I was wondering what's the possibility of putting a humbucker and a P90 in the same guitar? Would it work? And which would be better for the bridge pickup? Seems like a setup like that would cover a lot of ground.

Or how about even going more crazy and converting an HSH strat into an H-S-P90?

Thanks in advance for indulging my curiosity and here's a video of Swervedriver on the Jimmy Fallon show...

Highline, I put a Mean90 in the neck of my Joe Pass.
The bridge has the orig.Humbucker.
It may not be a true P-90 but the GFS Mean90 is HB size
so it made for a perfect fit/finish.
The mix & range of both is great.
I don't think there's a better combo! 8)
