My question/comment is about this case:

0996101106 Fender® Standard Molded Case (Strat® / Tele®)

In the description it says for Right or Left Handed Strats and Teles. I bought one for my Left Handed 1986 Fender MIJ '72 RI and I could not close the case. It would not work with the big headstock.

Have you had any other Left Handed players report this problem?

You and me both! At least if you're buying a USA made strat and plunking down $7-800, you should get one of teh leather sqaure cases just as I received when I bought my first Strat in '72 for $350! If th3e cost needed to be raised as an upgrade for maybe $50-75, I'd go for it.

I prefer the rectangular G&G cases to the molded ones.

I like the rectangular cases. They let people know you've got a Fender. With the molded cases, not everyone'll know that there's a Fender inside. They might even think you've got a violin or something.

One of my Strats has the molded case and I was asked if I had a gun in it when I walked into a gig one time.

That is actually a problem I have with branded cases. I don't want anyone to know what I have in the case. If you advertise that you have a $1200 Fender, it is more likely to get stolen.
