NOTE: I am aware that Mr B's gear was heavily modified, and that perfect reproduction of the tone would require going back in time to steal his setup. I'm just after a slice of the cake, not all of it.

Now that this is settled, let's get to the point...

Few years back I bought a MIM Deluxe Players Strat with Vintage Noiseless pups. I like them alright, but I'm still wanting to replace them with something more "true" and alike to the 70's stock Fender pickups. I've thought about Hot Noiseless, SCN, Lace Sensors and reissue/actual 70's stock pups.

I don't mind if the ones I'll go for are hotter than stock pickups, because I play mostly 80's hair metal and that AFAIK Mr B used pickups that were a bit hotter, after he gave up the stock ones. Hot Noiseless would be ideal since they'll go fine with the same 500K pots, but I don't really know if they'll sound all that different, being the same stacked humbuckers and all. Best would be to get my hands on authentic early 70's stock pickups, but they could come in expensive and I'd have to get some 250K pots too.

So, any suggestions?

The Hot Noiseless are a different beast altogether from the Vintage Noiseless. But for Blackmore tone I happen to really like the Hot Gold Lace Sensor. I put a set of 6k Hot Golds in one of my Strats awhile back and made this recording...

Sweet. That's something I'd be happy with.

Now if 6k is considered hot for a single coil, I'm wondering how the Noiseless pups retain that single coil tone and perceivable output with ~10k resistance readings. I guess the stacked humbucker design is something totally out of the ordinary.
