Ok Guys'
I have a Blacktop strat See here-http://www.fender.com/products/blacktop/models.php?prodNo=014810

I love it but am thinking of replacing the humbuckers. It currntly has Hot Vintage AlNiCo Humbucking Pickups. They sound ok even when split. Im looking for recomendations for replacements.
What replacements have you put in your strat???I like to play rock- Zeppelin, AC DC, some SRV and Hagar.

Any way the stock ones can seem no so bright, which can be good, but I also dont want to bright. Looking fo a good balance, recomendations please.
PS. thinking of adding S-1 switching also`thoughts?

Thanks
Doug

Hi Doug,

There are others here that are far more qualified to make Humbucker recommendations than I, but I have commented regarding the S-1 switching in your thread over in the Strat Forum.

Cheers!

Andy

Welcome.

Although your statement gives us somewhat of a starting point, here's two questions you should immediately and definitively know the answer to when contemplating a pickup change:

1. What are the properties you like about the current pickup and would want retained if you replaced it?

2. What are the deficiencies of the current pickup you would want remedied if you replaced it?

By you and us knowing the answers to these two questions, we could better advise you. If you can't definitively answer either or both, then leave the original pickups in.
