I'm having a hard time finding a pick guard for my new MIM Players Strat. It is new and came with a tortoise pick guard and I got the beautiful blue see thru finish and I think a white pearloid guard would look great.

As you know there has to be an extra 1/2 inch hole for the push button to engage the different combos for the PUP's. Surely someone knows a place to buy one without having to drill the hole and realign the pick guard holes. I have a standard Strat pearloid guard and took the old one off and several of the screw holes would have to be re-drilled to make it fit flat and look nice not to mention drilling the push button hole and take the mounting for the push button off the old guard and glue it to the new one.

While I'm not afraid to do all of this custom work I just hate go to all the trouble. Any help or a link to buy one would be great! Thanks

AFAIK, the only pickguard for this guitar is the tortoise-shell brown (it seems Fender committed an oversight by not making one or two optional colors). I've seen a Deluxe Players Strat in the blue transparent ash with a white pearloid guard and it really made that blue finish pop. However, it was a custom one-off mod that required some new mounting holes drilled in the guitar's body plus modifying the pickguard itself to accommodate the push-buttom switch. If you're handy with tools though it's worth the trouble IMO.

Best of luck, HTH

You may want to give Warmoth a call. They MAY be able to help.

+1, Tyronne

If nothing else, buy a "blank" pickguard of the correct material and color that has only the basic pickup and control pot holes and use the original pickguard as a template to mark and drill the correct holes for the mounting screws and push-button switch.

Thanks guys, for all of the great advice. I was afraid that what you all said was the case. I don't have a thing against Tortoise pick guards but on this clear see thru blue I just know the pearloid would make it pop.

So I went ahead and did the nasty deed LOL and re-drilled the pearloid pick guard and had the whole job done in about 5 hours. The pushbutton hole ended up being the easiest I just laid the old pick guard up against the new one and lined them up with tape so there would be no slippage and drilled the hole to the same size and glued the button housing to the bottom of the new pick guard with some epoxy made for plastic and in 30 mins it was so tight that I think I would have broken the new pick guard if I tried to pop it off :-).

When I put the pick guard down to see how far the holes that held it on would be off and there were only 4 holes that I needed to plug and re drill. It's all put back together now and looks great. I didn't want to go to all the trouble but it ended up easier than I had first thought. Thanks again!

All I see at that link is an advisory that reads "Sorry, that page is not found".

Try Photobucket instead.

In case no one realized it I edited my original post with a bad link to my pic so I uploaded it to photobucket as suggested so the link works now in my original post.

Looks nice.
Just so you know...you could have taken the "image code" from photobucket and embed it into your post so that you can see the guitar in the post instead of having to go to the website. Like this:

Thanks T I knew that I could most likely do that but I haven't read the picture posting rules yet and didn't want to get in hot water :-) I noticed when I signed up it said no more avatars allowed so I thought possibly that the forum was running low on space but next time I will do as advised and I do appreciate the help.

Out of all of my strats and teles this is one of the cheaper guitars as far as cost goes but it's in the top 2 best playing as well as sounding guitars.

That is sweet looking. Good job! 8)
I would go with all gold though instead of a mixture. (If I'm seeing it right.)
